Non-probability sample

  • Specifieke elementen uit de populatie worden geselecteerd op een niet-random manier.  Niet-random ontstaat wanneer populatie elementen geselecteerd zijn op basis van geschiktheid.

  • The chance is unknown, it is impossible to calculate the chance
    - people who are for some reason difficult to approach or difficult to find.
    - If generalization is less important: explorative research questions
    - convenience sampling
    - snowball: ask others if they know people who want to participate
    - quota (identify relevant categories) (how much of each categorys you want)
