What is learner autonomy (LA)?
A difficult concept to give a definition to.

If teachers focus on one or more of the following points, LA is likely to increase:

1. Engage and motivate.
2. Create and maintain a challenging learning environment.
3. Specific knowledge, abilities and willingness is required to learn effectively.
4. Curricular content and pace.
5. Tasks, actions and activities.
6. Involve the different learning strategies and techniques.
7. Level of transference of learning tasks, actions and activities.
8. acceptance of responsibility by the learner.
9. Learner's concentration and effort.
10. Oppurtunities for the learner for self-expression by communication of feelings and thoughts.
11. Ways in which progress is monitored, assessed and evaluated.
12. Roles of metacognitive and metaliguistic reflection.
