The field of strategy is shifting and instead of prescribed "fixes" or "cures," strategy now focuses on such things as:
  1. Looking for the system's "levers" or influencers
  2. Understanding the heterogeneity of the different actors' rationalities
  3. Probing the dynamics of institutional structures and learning processes
  4. Exploring the possibilities for managing the boundaries of the organization (strategic alliances, outsourcing, downsizing etc.)
