knowledge is a catherdral. The first function of a literature review is to embed the current study (the new brick) in the existing structure of knowledge ( the cathedral). It allows readers to understand much better wich particular issue (chapel of the cathedral) the study adresse, where it contributes to the knowlegde (the foundations, wall & roof) and how it relates to ther bricks.
