3.  In 1911 Der Blaue Reiter a group of Munich artists  as formed. They were   named after a picture painted by Kandinsky painted in 1903. The group included Kandinsky, who later became involved in Russian Constructivism and taught at the Bauhaus ,  Franz Marc, best known as an animal painter and Paul Klee.
All three began to adopt elements of cubism in their work but insisted on the importance of colour as an expression of psychological truth.
